Spare parts for a mech?

As per thread title, is it possible to get spares for a current Shimano XT+ mech. Specifically the bit of alloy that the mech pivots on and bolts to the mech hanger.

Buy a trashed one off Ebay - broken cages are common. rest likely to be fine.

Considering this option. Only thing going against it is wether the used unit has had a knock and suffered any metal fatigue or if its worth the hassle over just buying a part. The mech is only 3 rides old and knackered to a stray plate on my chain :roll:

Only six pounds more for a whole Deore mech which has the same part and also gets you a spare cage and jokey wheels.

Good idea and it should work, although its not the exact same part. What do you reckon?
