Need some mounting creativity

I have four devices adorning my handlebar at the moment - a bike computer, a bell, a big light and an action camera. It's a bit cluttered so I need some advice on alternative mounting points for some of these devices. I know I don't need some of them, but I want them all.

Personally i would ditch the bell. If you have time to ring a bell to alert people of your presence you have time to brake. Plus i have always found a shout/call much more effective - especially with pedestrians or horse riders.

But if you do want to keep all the gadgets, put the bike computer on the stem, the light or camera under the bars, the other on the bars and then you can also keep the bell on the bars.

    Not rocket science tbh

Ditch all that rubbish and ride free.

    Otherwise keep as you are.

Lose the bell and the camera.

I want to keep the camera as I'm testing the videos it creates in preparation for some adventure holidays later in the year, just to get familiar with file sizes and editing. I might mount the Garmin Edge on the stem using the rubber bands instead of where it is now with the out-front mount.

    Karma sutra imo.

    Check these out - http://www.morsadesigns.com

I have one with a Garmin 1000 and a Virb elite on it (which is very stable);... and there is still space to add another adapter for a light. Which would just leave your bell on the bars :)

They do international shipping, and although I had a slight issue with customs charges, Morsa's customer service was excellent and they sorted it out.

    Thanks Mossop.

That looks like a pretty good mount. How secure is the fitting to the handlebar and is what's the diameter range?

My action cam has a standard screw tripod fixing so that and the Edge 1000 could be fitted to that mount which would declutter the handlebar quite a bit.
  • You could try these as well;

K-edge do all sorts of combo mounts but they are quite pricey. Good quality all round though.

Some companies do mounts for Garmin+Light all in one, try googling your combo (Eg Garmin + Exposure light mount)

It's as secure as the official Garmin and K-Edge ones I've used. It says on the website that "The MORSA mounting system attaches to a 31.8 mm diameter Road or Mountain bike handlebar"
  • I would personally mount them all...if I had to like such...
Bell-behind the stem/on the steerer(if you must have one, I have to have one for legal reasons. I just kept it behind the steerer)
Combo mounts for Garmin/Go-Pro(the folks above have mentioned quite alot)
The light can go either on the Headtube(if you have a thin one/elastic silicone mounting straps) or fork legs(Drive-side For UK, non-Drive side for places driving on the wrong side of the road  .)
