Anyone know what size the mudguard eyelet bolts are on Chromplastic 'guards? The internet is saying either M4 or M5.

I think I'm going to need some longer ones and spacers to get the front 'guard to fit my new GT Grade. The stays are almost clearing the Spyre calipers, so I don't want to start faffing around bending them.

There were two slightly longer bolts in the pack but I had to use one of them to attach the rear to the chainstay bridge.

If you mean the bolts that attached the stays to the fork and rear dropouts the ones on my mudguards are M4. If you take one of the bottle cage bolts, normally M5, out and try that it should be to big to fit in the mudguard mount, if it fits then it's M5.

I've got the feeling they are M5. Although I had to run the front ones in through the back to clean the paint out of the threads, so I initially thought they were the wrong size.

You don't need to space both sides out evenly, so could just use one long bolt.

I can double check tomorrow if I remember.
  • Thanks guys, ordered both to be sure! I'll try the M5 ones first.
