Anyone had a tub which once centred on rim shows base tape one side and sits flush the other?

I've had one tubular do that. I used tape to glue it on and obeyed all the instructions and it twisted on me. I attribute this to the tires ability to twist itself inside out(so to speak)when inflated off the rim. I would guess it still can twist even on a taped or glued rim, to some extent, if the glue doesn't set immediately. I have settled in on Tufo tubulars because they don't twist due to the way they are made.
They seem easier to mount also.
