Hey all

Not posted in this forum for a while but your combined expertise is once again required.

My oldest child is growing up and on a recent ride it became apparent her 24" bike isn't going to be suitable for much longer. Took a look online and came across what I think are a couple of nice little bikes made by Ghost. Both are made in XS which should be ideal for a step up to adult bikes.

My budget of £500 steered me towards this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ghos ... prod126381

However, I wondered whether I might be better going for this one at £650: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ghos ... prod126386

So, my question is, is the second bike worth the £150 extra?

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Fork is probably worth most of the difference.

If you can afford it, get the 2nd one. It's a bike which has more potential as she gets to be a better rider.

  • Have you looked at the 14" Voodoo Maji for size, ~£650 with 10% extra off in basket until end of today? http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/m ... ntain-bike

Or perhaps a 16" Voodoo Bizango?

  • Unfortunately, the bike has to be handed down to her brother in a few years so the Maji wouldn't be suitable. Will take a look at the smaller Bizango as a possibility but suspect it'll be a bit too big for her.

I built up a bike for my boy (now seven and a half) starting with a 14" On-One Inbred frame. Here it is
