sram and shimano cassettes

would it be possible to run a shimano cassette on a sram free hub body or would i need to get a new free hub body? this is as shimano cassettes are much cheaper to replace

    For upto a 10 speed, yes you can, as SRAM use the Shimano HG spline pattern, for 11 speed SRAM use their own XD pattern freehub.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
