My local bike shop has a Bianchi Intenso tigra for 1000£. Im wondering is it worth buying? I know the tiagras arent very good but it would have a good frame and fork. Maybe in future I might upgrade to 105s or even ultegras.
Heres the bike:

Also im on a budget and I cant really go beyond that. Or should I just get a Specialized Comp for same price? It has 105s but alloy frame.

I'd say it depends on what you're planning to do in the future. If you plan to keep the bike for many years I think I would be tempted. Although the spec isn't great, a quick check of reviews and the frame does get good reports and you can always upgrade the spec at a later date, and it's a Bianchi!

If you think you'll be upgrading again in the next couple of years I'd be more inclined to get a bike with a better spec to enjoy now.

What makes you think there's anything wrong with Tiagra?

I have it and it's perfect. I also have Ultegra which is a nicer, smoother shift but I could happily live with Tiagra.

The bike is too expensive in my opinion. Bike brands mean next to nothing nowadays since they're all made in the same factories - you're paying a lot for a paint job.

I thought it would be good to buy a quality frame and in few years by new groupset? Becouse I think Bianchi has somekind of insurance on their frames. And I dont know about the Specialized frames. They're suppositely very good and everything but Bianchi would be better I think. And Shimano 105s cost only 378 euros on wiggle.co.uk

Well yeah its pretty expensive compared to its components, but the price shows in the frame. And I think a frame wears as quickly as components. And the bike is normally 2299 euros and its on sale for 1400e. I think thats a pretty good deal if you ask me.

Audi and VW are essentially the same car but plenty of people still pay a premium for Audi.

Go for it then. I take it you do realise you're comparing a carbon bike to an aluminium one?

Yeah well thats what I thought when I asked this question, but Allez Comp has so much better specs. Only thing where Bianchi wins is in the frame. And what do you mean by comparing Alu to carbon? Is carbon so much better?

Not necessarily. Lighter in most circumstances and generally a bit more compliant over the rough stuff but it really depends on the actual frame. Aluminium is a bit more resistant to impact than carbon (ie falling off)
but don't be put off by either.

Yeah I agree. Bianchi tiagra at 8.67kg and Allez Comp is 9.26kg. I dont know if this is so much.
  • Which one do you prefer the look of?

I presume they both fit you?

If it were me, I think I'd get the Bianchi - but it's not my decision OP - it's yours!!

EDIT: Now I've seen that it's in Celeste, it would be a no brainer for me!!

I agree the celeste looks FU****G AWESOME. And I prefer the Bianchi with the looks (and the brand). But I must make this clear this bike is going to see a lot of use, becouse I commute by it and ride long trips in summer and fall. So Im little sceptical about how the groupset and the frame will handle it (may sound kinda noobish). Im afraid that I will break the frame. And also I will be buying it with monthly payment option so I will be paying it like 18 months. And I would think the Bianchi would fit me better as it would be 59cm not like Specialized comp is 58 or 61

Between those two I would have the bianchi no question.

105 is nice but Tiagra works just fine, I've got two bikes with tiagra and they have been great. Saw Ultegra groupset for just over 500 online as well (think on ribble?).

Yeah I found Ultegra for 600e. And thanks for your opinion!

Very good, keep it for years and upgrade over time.
