I have received my bont shoes today from a well known online store.
Imo I think they have been heat moulded by someone else and they returned
The shoes then I purchased a pair then sent to me.
Both shoes feel different in fit and came in a plastic bag which was wrapped in sellotape and not a box.
Do bont shoes come boxed?
Also no instructions

Yeo they come in a black fabric bag and a box. No instructions though.
I wouldnt worry if they have been molded as you can do it as many times as you like, but that is naughty of whoever the company is.
Oh it took me 2 attempts in the oven. I needed to push the big toe area out on my right foot.
  • AFAIK they should be boxed but not all models come in a bag.

How have people got on with moulding? I've had mine in oven 4 times and can't get them to even remotely give/get softer. Even had them in at 90-100 deg for 3p mins, when Bont suggest 60deg for 20min

You need to use an oven thermometer to get the temperature right. If you rely on the oven controls, you will never get anywhere as they are too random.
  • I tried molding 10 times. Never worked. At all different temperatures and durations under supervision by Bont themselves.

Eventually sent them back and bought Lake instead.

Perhaps you got mine? Are you a 45?

That's not good, I think you should name the "online store" ! I'll have a bet it's Chain Reaction Cycles ?

I purchased a pair of Bont Vapour + and they have spent more time in the oven than on my feet ! A pain in the arse and very uncomfortable, I'll never buy another pair.

I brought my Bont Vapour Sprints from Sigma Sport in Kingston. Sigma have a mould machine inside their shop. I find them very comfortable, I inserted a cycling mould insole as well as I think Bont insoles are too thin. You need someone like Sigma to carry out the heat operation. They spent 25 mins fitting me !

Amazingly I found out that all Bont shoes are made at 2 independent factories in Asia, my right is slightly smaller than the left shoe and I've had my leg lengths measured in the past by a Chiropractor and a Physio with little between them or should I say I'm normal on leg length. I've seen similar forums about left or right Bont shoes fitting different. It's crazy really why they do this!

I just don't understand this. I moulded mine twice. First time, the fit was close, second time was perfect. I can only assume the temperature wasn't right for some reason. An oven thermometer is essential, otherwise you will be just guessing with the temperature. This is what I have: http://thecookskitchen.com/browse_4204

Straight out of the box, they felt like two planks of wood - but once moulded, they are genuinely the best, most comfortable cycling shoes I have ever worn (in 25 years). Can't fault them at all. And I don't work for them either.
