Shimano acera m396
There are no adjusters and the levers/calipers are not the lightest but they work and feel just like Shimano's more expensive brakes. The levers don't have a hinged clamp, the pads are held in place with a simple split pin and the fittings/fasteners are distinctly workmanlike but otherwise no problems power and modulation is as good as it gets on a budget. Inexpensive B01S pads as well0 -
M596 have a bit more power, for that sort of money I don't think you will be disappointed with either.0

Don't be put off by the used Shimano's though, in the family we have 3 bikes on 2006 Shimano M765's and one on 2004 Deore's (forgot the model number), in three years use on all those I have had to replace one calliper due to a leaky seal, they are super reliable.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

i just saw the used deore and it is still superb, i really like the levers, but it has a problem in one lever, the screw of the cap where the bleeding kit is attach is kinda loose and i have to put somthing to prevent it from leaking. you guys said that the acera has the same or comparable power with that model of deore, i think i will just get the bnew acera m396.0
