Difference between 2013 BMC SLR01 and newer models?

I am trying to decipher what the difference is between the 2013 BMC SLR01 (TeamMachine) and the never versions of the frame.

Reading the PR material for each of the frame yields pretty much the same tech talk:

"Cadel Evans won a bunch of stuff, but we wanted to make it stiffer and more compliant, while still make it lighter AND WE SUCCEEDED"

Seriously. Every year. But is there really that much difference? Obviously Cadel Evans won a bunch of stuff with every frame anyway.

I want to get a light climber, and have found a 2013 SLR01 Di2 frame for $2599, which seems like a great deal. While e.g. a 2016 SLR02 may be as good because of the evolution of things, BMC does not sell anything SLR02 framesets, which is why I'm looking at an 'older' SLR01.

Thoughts?
