Do you think it would be a good bargain to buy this mountain bike (used) for about 300€ ?
The seller says that he has replaced the original rear derailleur Shimano Altus RD-M280 with a new Acera RD-M390-SGS and has also put a new Shimano BB-UN26 Bottom Bracket.

Not really, terrible fork, rest of the stuff is bottom end, and this "Our 29er Comp is the ultimate hardtail machine for XC and long-distance racing. " is just a lie.

    I'm not convinced it's worth 300€ new.

  • Damn, there aren't many options for a good mountain bike in Bulgaria for a low price.
If i were to buy a mb from the UK it would cost me an arm and a leg just for the shipping, and I wish I could find a used http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-52 ... 93188.html for like 150 pounds.
It seems impossible to find a ~300€ 29" er here, even used.

Why limit yourself to a 29er? At any price point 26er are better specced.

There are three decathlon stores in Bulgaria https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=decat ... w%3A%3AWK2
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

I've only ridden a 29" er once and I really liked it but i guess the good old 26" would still suit me fine.
Now I'm leaning towards one of these two but can't decide. I've only owned full suspension bikes and when I tried one with only front suspension it was really weird.

Unless I find some better second hand beauty for about 200 pounds, the other 50 of the budged going for the shipping.

The 520 is a perfectly good entry level MTB, the 500s is very well specced for the money but the frame is a bit flexy and it is pretty heavy, personally I'd take the 520.

The decathlon bikes really are a class above the others at that price.
