    Not feeling good at all. Wifey had some strain of gastric flu yesterday that kept her in bed all day. My guts are OK but the head is not on top form and it feels like I haven't slept. Coffee is only a partial cure. Onwards to more infection.

    Windy ride in on N2 bike to find that gears are to poop - popped up on the stand in my office to find that cables need changing prior to readjusting, so full clean for that and will pop on the wall until Spring breaks.

    Apart from that, coffee, eating, bit of TT bike building, general chavving, so nothing major to report really.

    Discussed quitting here and going into civvy trade with a coup,e of people so breaths were drawn and actions may, hopefully, be taken.

    Also mentioned it to TDV - deep breath and drawing in of eyebrows. I left the room shortly after that.

    Had 5 people resign in as many months, all senior except the head of department and I want off this sinking ship.

    Stevo- broadly right. big4 ACA now doing corporate finance in a small uk focussed commercial bank. Time to go pan-European or the dream of project finance in UAE, which is a touch tricky at present

    I'm not in your industry, but if the recruiters in finance are same as construction, then my experience is, that if they don't place you within 2 months then you are forgotten. Best to find your own position.

    In my experience they never give up. I was last looking for work over 2 years ago and still get about 3 calls a week.
