Stuck SRAM Guide RS Levers

I have a set of Guide RS disc brakes and my issue is with the rear brake lever being sticky when things get hot.

Hot as in just riding in the summer or braking a lot down a trail makes the levers sticky. After pressing on them they take a while to go back out again. thw sticky levers don't affect the brake pads much I guess. But it makes pressing both levers wierd.

I took it to my local SRAM distributor and they mentioned that the brakes especially the rear, happens all the time and no amount of rebleed is gonna resolve this. They also mention that it is still safe for trail use. Just that the levers don't bounce back out fast enough.

Is it true? Anyone experienced this?

That sounds like bad customer service, and a defective brake to me

When did you purcased the product?

  • Doesn't sound normal , I've got two sets and not had anything like that happen and a lot of the bike that come through the workshop at work have them fitted with nothing like what you describe. I would contact anorther anther seam dealer for second opinion.

Sticky pistons can cause that, remove pads, squeeze the lever to move the pistons out A BIT, clean round them with some IPA while working them in and out, lube with a little brake fluid, wipe off the excess and refit pads.
