I am planning to buy my first road bike. I am into triathlon and really looking forward to purchase a descent bike for my new hobby. My budget is under 1,000.00 USD. I have done a lot of research and found a good bike via an online store in our country (The Philippines), the Cannondale Caad 8 Sora (probably a 2014 or 2015 model, not a lot of details though), I believe it is the bike that fits my needs and I've read a lot of good reviews about it.

However though I also found a Battle Vista 4600 which is priced cheaper than the cannondale caad 8 and it has the shimano tiagra group set. I tried to look for reviews about this brand but I could not find some. I am tempted with this one because of the Tiagra groupset. My questions are:

1. Have any of you guys heard about or tried the Battle Vista Road bike? If so, how was it?
2. Are there fake shimano group sets? I was thinking that for the price with that group set, something is not right.
3. Also, can you give some comments on the cannondale? As I've said, not a lot of details were given in the listing.

Here are the links for the two:

Thank you for your time.

A Cannondale road bike offers an excellent overall quality for a triathlon athlete. BUT the Battle Vista road bike is equipped with a shimano groupset that makes its quality somewhat very near as to be called equal to that of a cannondale. I've also checked the specs of the Battle Vista and I was satisfied with it. With a much cheaper price, I would prefer the Battle Vista road bike. :D
