Hi,
I've recently purchased the Planet X Exocet 2 frame from ebay and I want to fit an Ultegra 6800 bottom bracket onto the frame. Can anyone recommend a good adaptor as the frame is designed for a BB30 bottom bracket?
Thanks

If its from ebay I take its sans warranty in which case use an FSA press in sleeve. If you have warranty get some Chris King adapter cups conversion as its not permanent.0

I have an Exocet 2, had the same issue. The best one I've tried is the Rotor one. Fantastic! Much better than when I tried the FSA and Wheels Mfg ones but actually easier to fit. Just like having a Hollowtech II BB.

I did buy a FSA BB30 Threaded Adapter (B3119) however there are two metal ridges on the inside of the frame tube which makes me think the sleeve won't fit through. Do you know if it's supposed to be smooth on the inside? I'm not sure what BB they were using before.

Thanks for the link. I'm on quite a tight budget so I was hoping to get an adaptor for less than £20... Out of interest, on your Exocet 2 is the inside of the tube where the bottom bracket fits into smooth or does it have two circular metal ridges sticking out about a cm in from either side?0 -
Those 'ridges' are removable C clips. Use some needle nose pliers to get them out. There should be two bits with holes in sticking out a bit further...
I give it 2hrs of riding before the creaking of the FSA one starts...Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

KCNC and Praxis Works both make adapter bottom brackets that will allow a Shimano HTII crankset to work in a BB30 bottom bracket too. The Praxis Works one on my Roubaix has been excellent so far.Specialized Roubaix Elite 2015

Thanks. I've just bought the "Praxis BB30/PF30 To Shimano 68mm Wide Converter Bottom Bracket".0 -

You won't regret getting a proper one like the Praxis or Rotor, very much fit and forget, unlike the push in adaptors like the FSA. The FSA ones have the creaking/fit issues of BB30 but with extra weight. In other words, all the negatives!
That said, I ended up getting a BB30 Power Meter and the SRAM BB30 fit/bearings have been faultless.Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching

Never had any creaking on my bike with an FSA sleeve. Runs perfectly quiet.0 -

Just had the exact same predicament, 6800 in an Exocet 2, I went for the Praxis and so far really happy with it. Feels like a quality unit. Easy to fit with a press (or threaded bar, bolts and washers in my case) and a hollowtech tool.0
