Disc Wheel Options - Vision or Fulcrum

I'm after a road bike that I can use for weekend road stuff and some light touring duties, keen to have discs, mudguards, etc, the Planet X London Road Hydraulic fits the bill pretty well.

There's options for wheels; The Vision Team 30 Disc or Fulcrum Racing Sport Disc. Looks like the Vision will only take minimum of 28mm tyres, whereas I think the Fulcrum will handle 25mm. Fulcrum are a bit lighter, but are cup and cone and I'd prefer cartridge which the Vision has.

I'm thinking for my use (mainly road, bit of gravel, not really off-road), I'm never going to use really wide tyres (e.g. 38mm), probably will go with 28mm normally, so the Vision's are maybe too beefy for me?

Any one have any opinions on these two wheelsets?

Just a thought but why not get the ones you think are best to sell on then from the proceeds by the Pro Lite Revos from Ribble or Wiggle for £159 (on offer). That way you get a high spoke count wheelset weighing 1660g for next to nothing.

Not sure they are the same. Wiggle has them at £308 and light. Ribble has them at £159 and really really heavy

Got mine from wiggle for 159 and they weigh 1650g nice wide rim too so my 28 c four seasons are nice and wide but a mare to get on so my first puncture out in the sticks is going to be interesting

Interesting. They're 19mm wide, so assume the thinnest tyre they can take is 28mm then? Can probably live with that for my purposes. The ones on Ribble say they're 16mm. Will have to ask them on Monday if that info is correct.

Just get the ones from Wiggle - email them and ask them to pricematch - job done plus you get a better service imo.

FWIW I think they are the same wheels just Ribble have the wrong spec.

Mine are on the Wiggle website as A21s but the box says A25s yet my rims are the same as the ones detailed here:

Just looked again. Ribble ones have different graphics compared to mine so maybe they are different. Anyway me and a couple of others on here got Wiggle to pricematch. Super happy with mine! Goodluck - go to be worth a punt.
