Hardtail with air fork

Hey, a friend of mine wants to get into Mountainbiking. He has about 700€ (550£) available, and should probably get a bike with an airfork as he is quite light. I have suggested the Cube attention SL to him, because it has some good components and an ok fork (XC32 solo air). Because I am in Germany, the options often mentioned here (Halfords, Whyte, etc.) are not available. Any suggestions?

I've looked there, but there isn't really anything at decathlon with an air fork-Cube Acid 29" 2013

I'd suggest looking again, as you'd be wrong.
580 and 700 for example.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

That is true, but the components aren't as good as those of the Cube, and costs 80€ more.
Cube:RS XC32 vs. 580: RS XC30
Cube: XT derailleur vs. 580: SLX
I was a bit vague on the previous post though, sorry.-Cube Acid 29" 2013

Here the Cube would be dearer, sounds like you know your local market better than we can realistically do.
