Replacement forks for Giant Revel Ltd 0

Friend of mine has a Giant Revel Ltd 0 and after a few years of abuse the naff RS Coils are dead. 26" quick release, I guess 100 to 120mm (max) fork is what he needs but is the old advice of Recon Air still good or is there something else worth considering?
It's straight steerer and I'm guessing a 11/8 headset - unless told differently.

Recon gold (now XK30) air.....or better still a Suntour Epicon/Epixon (about £135 off the bay of E's), roughly the equivalent of a Reba.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
