Im very close to pulling the trigger on a Look 765 ultegra mix.
Is there anyone on here that owns one or have any experience with one if so what are your thoughts?
Also any other recommendations as I've spotted a 2015 Ridley helium with 1k knocked off.

Got a 2014 Helium Sl(got mine half price too :D );been really pleased with it,got Ultegra on it and am just about to order some hand-builts for it(he'd belgium+ rims and record hubs).

I've done a few 100+ milers on it last year and numerous club runs and it's been faultless;stood up to a crash pretty well too.

Don't think you can go wrong with either option really.

I have a Ridley Helium frameset, built up myself with Ultegra and Hed Belgium+ too!

It's simply fabulous, my first Ridley, but definitely won't be the last.....

Apoligies to the OP for a thread hi-jack but what tyres are you using with the Heds?

Not sure about the clearances as I'm looking to fit 25mm tubeless and aparently they come up to 28 on the Belgiums.

I use 23mm Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX on my HED Belgium+ rims which come up at 25mm wide (same as the rim) and roll superbly
I do believe that 23mm tyres on those rims is a recommended combination by HED. I've certainly had no issues.

A 25mm tyre would definitely come up around 28mm and would be a bit fat for my tastes although there is probably just about enough clearance to run them.

Not a 765 but I own a LOOK 795 Aerolight, a 675 and a 595, all superb bikes but then I'm biased of course. LOOKs aren't cheap but in my opinion some of the highest quality carbon in the business and the beauty is you don't see a lot of them about, really special bikes, very rare you cycle past someone with a LOOK of any description.
765 I'm sure will be a cracking ride as they all are, I can recommend Epic cycles to deal with for any LOOK, very professional outfit, best of luck if you decide on the 765.

  • Thanks for he replies guys
I think I have my mind set on the 765 my o lay decision is to go for the ultegra/fsa mix or pay the extra £300 for the full ultegra is it worth the extra.
Or should I spend the extra £300 on a wheel upgrade straight of the bat.

Depends on the wheels it's coming with? As a rule they are the best upgrade you can make if the wheels are below par. If they're half decent id go for the full Ultegra fit it's a much higher quality than FSA
