Looking for a rear light that will fit the aero seat post on my Specialized Venge. Most of the fittings are for standard tubular posts.
Any ideas?

Get one of those lights that has a rubber loop that clips round the frame, they will fit any seat post.Any bike shop will be able to sort you out.

I recently got a Cateye X3 rear light - it is fantastic. 2 separate strips of very bright leds, so you can have one set flashing and one set steady for optimum visibility.
I have it mounted to the rear seat stays and it hasn't budged, but it also comes with a specific aero post rubber adapter which should be perfect for the venge.
I run it for 1 hour every day and 3 hours on the weekend and one charge a week gets me through - couldn't ask for better.0 -
I've got a Lezyne Strip Drive Pro that I use on my Propel so should be fine on your seat post too. USB rechargeable, lots of different settings and up to 100 lumens.0

I use something similar to this (moon comet style), which fits onto the saddle rails

+1. The cheaper Rapid X2 is also an excellent rear light.0 -

I've got a Moon Ring that has an adaptable bracket that allows it to fit aero posts. Bright small and only £20.0

wouldn't recommend one of the moon lights ( think comet) for rides of more than 1 hour on low settings, its battery life is average at best.
cateyes x series with the rubber flexi straps are good on my time machine ( similar seatpost).0 -
This is superb bargain: http://www.cyclesurgery.com/pws/UniqueProductKey.ice?ProductID=cmoo003000
Lasts well in flashing modes, cant say for others as I wouldnt use them. Flashing on 50% is plenty for daytime (in fact flashing on 10% would be fine) when you need brighter lights. Flashing on 10% is plenty for night riding - brigher than most lights on full...!
This and the Moon Comet also come with a saddle rail mount which is so much better than the seat post mounts too, and works with panniers on.
If you want a Moon Comet style light, buy the original for the same price as the Planet-X copy here: https://www.merlincycles.com/moon-comet-rear-led-light-59746.html0 -
If you do want the Cateye X Series as Phil has suggested, probably the Cycle Surgery 1 day flash sale (ends midnight tonight) will be good on that score too:

[Edit] scratch that, the X3 is cheaper here: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cateye/rapid-x3-100-lumen-rear-light-ec1191890 -
I have one of these and it's very very bright (it has many modes), it comes with different bands to fit many differing size seat posts, including aero.

The strip drive pro is very good indeed, and, due to its rear dent should fit quite a variety of posts and seatstays. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I bought this set recently (slightly cheaper than this):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEZYNE-MICRO-DRIVE-SET-400-XL-FRONT-70-REAR-LED-LIGHT-BLACK-CYCLE-BIKE-USB-/331752231602?hash=item4d3df952b2:g:me4AAOSwa-dWiecU
8 hours is pretty accurate for the rear. It is very bright, the daylight flash is eye watering!0 -
Size visibility is poor on the Lezyne Micro Drive, bad design with just the absolute tiniest notch to try and pretend that it lets light out the side, which doesnt really work.0
