    It's a small world.

My favourite NF ride starts from Moyles Court and head past Fritham (Royal Oak, right?) before doubling back to the Red Shoot, out under the A31, around the deer sanctuary sometimes, back to the top of Poulner hill to the start. Some lovelly single track coming off Poulner hill

Or, as I live in Christchurch, I can reach the Forest by Homesley/Burley from home and have afew good routes around there.

To be honest, if it's good single track you're after, NF isn't the best - some great sections, but few and far between, and mostly waterlogged this time of year.

Cranborne Chase and of course the Purbecks would be my choice, but they're a bit of trek for you

A few short but fun runs immediately south of Picket Post off A35 (nr Burley). Not strictly singletrack, but a buzz at speed (far more so when its dry of course)

when I said Poulner hill, I think I actually meant Picket Post. It's a nice 1/2 mile down to Shobley road in a fast, flowy sort of way. Nothing too technical, but still one of the better NF trails.

There's always Moors Valley singletrack - can be fun when it's quiet, or dark

The route heading SW out of Fritham that ends up by the cottage by the brook - some sort of park ranger's cottage I think - can be fast and fun over the loose stuff toward the end

The only other area I've done a bit is NE of Sway, from memory it's Wilverley Enclosure. Can get boggy, but some decent routes out toward Brock

Moors Valley is always best done at night. No-one else around other than you and your riding buddies!

There's plenty of unofficial singletrack in the Forest but never any real elevation so it's pedally, which is fine. Just be careful where you go and when otherwise you may find that you (and your mates) are the subject of an Echo front page :)

Certainly is a lack of much elevation here in the forest I agree. We ride all over the unofficial routes and you just have to put up with the very occasional gripe from a miserable dog walker. Other than that, it's fine. Was through Wilverly at the weekend and it's all fine on the main tracks. Longslade (heading towards Brock) is a pleasant ride through too.
