A real loss to music.
His early work was fantastic . I just listened to Black Star yesterday as well.

Bad news.
I found some of his work quite challenging, but he was always interesting. A real loss to the music and art world.Ecrasez l’infame0 -
Genius. RIP Starman.0

Great artist, a lot of singers and bands probably think their music can't be pigeonholed but Bowie really can't be, you could find a Bowie LP in the collections of just about anyone.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0

Very sad news this morning. What an amazing talent. An Innovative, unpredictable, unique, genius.
RIP Bowie.0 -
I always thought he was in good health for his age and that he would carry on for years more.0

This is a very weird day. He’s been with me quite literally all of my life in one way or another - my real name is David Bowie. I was/am/will always be a fan and I was only just speaking about how good Blackstar was to some mates (I was playing the title track last night – it’s fantastic). In hindsight the video for Blackstar and Lazarus are very telling. I suggest you go and watch them and listen to the lyrics if you haven't already.
A great loss.0 -
went for coffee, local cafe playing non-stop bowie, except for one iggy song from the time they worked together, stayed and had more coffeemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0

I saw Bowie in May 72 at Slough Tech and he was mindblowing. His energy on stage combined with the outrageous costumes were like nothing else happening at the time, totally unforgettable.

The man had loads of talent and charisma by the bucketful. Was stunned when Mrs Tank told me this morning. The world is a poorer place today.Tail end Charlie

Just listening to Backstar. Apt lyrics from "Girl Loves Me".
"Where the fuck did Monday go?"The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

" If you're ever sad, just remember the world is 4.543 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie "
Not my quote, but brilliant all the same.

I'm not moping around. Look at the sheer numbers of stars who went far too early From Janis Joplin to Elvis to John Lennon to Bob Marley and Bowie just released an album very recently.
We can be very grateful he didn't go before his time, equally grateful he filled 5(?) consecutive decades with his music and he never sat still.
Celebrate him, don't mourn him.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
