full suspension

I'm thinking of getting into some mountain biking and wonder which I should go for.
My intended riding will consist of trails/some xc in the Dales/North Yorks
Any advice would please be welcome.
I was looking at an early 2000's Klein hard tail or a 2013 Whyte m 109s full suspension.
I am of a certain age and ready for retirement so want to do some serious riding in my new found spare time.
East Yorks so don't know much about trails and recommended rides.
Thanks
Steve

I would look for a light, short travel full sus, around 120mm. 140mm if you plan rougher stuff.
Full sus is a bit easier on elderly bodies, I'm not quite ready for retirement, but I talk from experience.I don't do smileys.

As another 'older' rider I'd largely concur with Cool(gran)dad, with one caveat.
Namely your budget. You need to budget a minimum of about £1k for a full sus worth having. (Giant Trance, see Pauls cycles springs to mind)
If your budget is significantly less then stick to a hardtail0 -

Thanks for the posts.
I have a budget of around £2k but could go to more on an interest free scheme.
Thank you,

Thank you for the replies.
I was though thinking of carbon and had glanced at a Marin Mount Vision.
Am I just being totally out of touch when I think negatively of alu for a frame ?
Thanks

I don't get the previous post.
There seems so much choice out there.
I'm just trying to identify what would be a good option for what could be (according to my wife that is !!) my last quality MTB.
Certainly didn't want to offend anyone.
I'll keep looking I guess.0 -
Thanks for all the help with your replies. ( Apart from rockies last post to me that is !! I'm old I guess, Mother assures me that I am of her parentage and senile not just yet anyway !! )
I have settled on a Santa Cruz carbon Tallboy 29 er and looking forward to its delivery and my first ride.
Thanks again.

Watch your language, you may get your teeth knocked off if you keep going like that
