Is it normal for Hope Pro 2 to start a little draggy / slow? Will riding it free it up?

Have checked freehub seal and it's seated correctly.

Are you sure it's not the brake? Anyway, sounds normal and the fresh grease will thin out a but with use so I wouldn't worry about it.

my new pro2 evo rear wheel isnt like this.

i think your brake disc is rubbing on the pads as you cant clearly see the brake caliper in your video.

i know the hope free hub is loud so you wont hear any rubbing so spin the wheel, look over the brake caliper and you should see if its rubbing or not.

Looks like some Hope hubs start of a bit stiff. A couple of hours thrashing mine around the woods today seems to have loosened things up. Now running much better. Spins down much slower.

  • I had similar, I also thought they ran a bit quiet for a Hope hub, but that soon changed after a couple of hours on the trail! Running nice and smooth now!
