Right,

I have decided to take the plunge on some aero wheels below £1k mark but unfortunately there is so much choice now. Can anyone recommend out the following:

Cero RC45
Token TK C55
Dark Energy DMX440 Fat Boys also known as Spin K2 Carbone XLR38 wheels
Wiggle's new Cosine
Giant P-SLR 1
Mavic Cosmic
FFWD F4R FCC
Zipp 60
Saturae C50 Full Carbon Clincher

Thanks in advance....!

Carbonzone 60s off scuz bay. Cheap, light, look good, roll very well, stiff. Used mine for road racing, duathlons, commuting, training and shopping trips - can't be faulted.

You'd get two and a half sets for a grand.........

  • I don't think Giant do the P-SLR1 anymore, the closest spec one is the SL1.

My vote would be for the Reynolds Assault if you want a factory wheel that is built with quality components.

I would also say Reynolds but I would recommend the Strike (SLG) over the Assault.

At 62mm deep and something around 1640 grams they make an excellent all round wheelset. If you're gonna get an aero wheelset you may as well get something reasonably deep (55mm+ I would say).

Better yet, beg, steal, and cheat to get your hands on some Reynolds Aeros. Still the best wheels I've had.

  • Thanks for your thoughts, Sounds like Reynolds or Wheelsmith.

Have any of you experienced any of the above wheels?

    Thanks
