Merida Big Nine 20D.. got anything better for the price?

Hey Guys
im looking for a new entry level mountain bike
My budgest is about 400 Pounds
Im liking the Merida Big Nine 20D
its got decent specs for the money
Its got a nice frame as well
I was also liking the Trek Marlin6 and Scott Aspect 950
but after taking a look as the Merida it seemed better
Im however stuck in a peculiar situation
Where not many brands are available in my country India
if you want to make other suggestions please do but only from the following brands:
Trek, Scott, Cannondale, Merida, Bianchi, Ghost, Lapierre, Releigh, Btwin, GT

I suggest you keep your enquiries all in one thread as there is info in some threads 9like that you are in India so recommending UK bikes is pointless) not in here, you've also asked about the Merida in your other thread so I won't be replying twice.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
