Bad call... this way it will revert to a million threads saying the same thingleft the forum March 20230

Should be brought back, IMO, it helped me discover wider rims and good value hubs and could do the same for others in the future.0

One of my favourite threads for good info even though I'm not in the market for new wheels.0
-
It was a great thread for info etc.
C'mon guys.....bring it back0 -
Why's it gone? My favourite thread, full of good info and (for a change) almost totally grown-up discussion!0
-
Agreed, one of the most informative threads on here, who's the culprit?0
-
What kind of person would delete that thread it was a super supplementary component of this part of the forum?0

I don't think it's been deleted, just de-sticked... go find it, post in it and it will come back up. Then you can ask the mod team to make it into a sticky thread againleft the forum March 20230 -
looks like it is gone.

Not sure why it's gone, I've asked the question and hopefully it will be back.0

Yeah, bring it back
Can't help but agree with W12lad, Uphillslowly (I know how that is...), bordersroadie, & DJ580 -

I followed your helpful suggestion with every conceivable search criterion and no joy. I don't believe it is around any more.0 -

Perhaps the wheel companies that advertise on the site didn't like it!RIP commute...
Sometimes seen bimbling around on a purple Fratello Disc or black and red Aprire Vincenza.0 -

Perhaps they should have read the content, learned from what their target audience is actually doing and come up with the products that we wanted then!Trail fun - Transition Bandit

I would imagine Mavic given they don't benefit at all from handbuilt wheels. That said, I've never seen them sponsor here...0

There needs to be more transparency here. If the moderators don’t know what’s going on, who does?
The hand-built wheel thread had become a huge resource of question-and-answer, general advice, and theoretical debate. You can’t just delete this stuff!
Furthermore, all of my account’s 650 posts were deleted not long ago, just after I had argued (perfectly civilly) against the switch to disc brakes. It’s starting to look a bit too deliberate.0 -
I just came here to search for that very thread now
1 year on, finally getting round to sorting that second set of wheels for the CX bike and wanted to know which was the most favoured for wheels that would run well tubed or tubeless - pacenti sl25 or velocity aileron. I know there were a bunch of useful opinions in that thread.
Also, does anyone know if you can get the novatec centerlock hubs in the UK now, or is BDOP still the only option? Would be nice to be able to have easy to replace bearings *and* be able to use the same shimano rotors on all my wheels.0 -

That was to save you from your own ignorance
Only kidding, a very valid point and another disappointment.Trail fun - Transition Bandit

Well, the original thread is back without explanation...0

Not sure what happened, there was probably a complaint about something. Anyway it's back now and more importantly I have my wheel stand back.0

It was purely an admin error!
No mystical corruption conspiracies! Apologies for the delay in getting it back, had to get the tech team to dive into a deep, dark and scary database to find it.BikeRadar Communities Manager0 -

Exactly what someone who was part of a mystical corrupt conspiracy would say :twisted:0
