Im looking to replace a broken bike, snapped a carbon frame so moving back to alloy.
Ive looked at this and for a £1k it looks good value. Any body got one?

The shop is miles away so cannot try one for size, do they come up big or small on the geometry side?
Also any know the weight?

FYI You can't buy Focus bikes mail order, so all a bit irrelevant unless you have a dealer near you who has one in stock.0

Can't help you with the sizing but £1000 for a bike with Di2 is good value.Shut up, knees!

Any particular reason you have set your heart on this one? I am not sure what kit was on the one I idly hefted in a shop, but it nearly gave me a hernia. I don't think the Mares AL frames are particularly light, and while they look pretty, all the stuff they include to hit a price point weighs a ton. If I had to guess 12 kgs.
Presumably you have bits and bobs on your broken frame? Why not get one of the new Kinesis frames and some light tubular wheels and build yourself a 7kg rocket? I am also not sold on DI2 for cross, but that's your choice.0 -
Not really set on it it was another option, the carbon frame Fuji is probobly going to be fixed but just need another spare, I thought it looked a heavy beast and I dont want a heavy one, so that puts it out of contention. My mate has raced the di2 this season with no problems at all but I don't prefer SRAM CX 1. Need a new set of carbon tubs as well as I smashed them in the same crash!Trek Top Fuel 9.9 - Fuji CX 1.1 - Trek Boone 7 Disc - Room for 1 more0

I ride/race a canti Mares and it's pretty light. About 8kg all in. Mine is a few years old though. Is the fork full carbon? I dont suppose weight of wheels really matters if you've already got tubs. As someone above said the newer disc models are heavy as hell.0

Interesting, if it came in under 10kg Id be interested, Ill call the shop and get them to weigh itTrek Top Fuel 9.9 - Fuji CX 1.1 - Trek Boone 7 Disc - Room for 1 more0

I'd be a bit surprised if it weighed more than a stock Genesis Croix de Fer! Hell, my Whyte 629 MTB was only 12.5kg.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I was certainly surprised!0 -
Just bought the 105, weight's a smidge under 10kg. As for size they come up on the large size0

Assuming I am ''that guy'' I thought I was fairly explicit about how I arrived at my estimate. If you think that 10kg for small framed bike is a good race weight - good luck.0
-
Less than 10kg would be acceptable, my others are btwenn 7.5 and 9kg - the heaviest thing on my bike is me!Trek Top Fuel 9.9 - Fuji CX 1.1 - Trek Boone 7 Disc - Room for 1 more0

That's probably true for everyone, but in that case why worry about 12kg?0 -

I've got one of those Mares AX Di2 bikes from Sigma Sport. Got it set up as a commuter and winter workhorse so can't comment on it's cross abilities. I love it for what I use it for. Not sure of the exact weight - it's not the lightest of bikes but not all that heavy either. Probably around 9kg if I had to guess. Just be aware of two things:
1) The sizing is a bit off. The "small" is a 54 and "medium" a 56.
2) The di2 is 10-speed. Shimano no longer make/sell that stuff, so if you break something...0 -

Thanks very much, great feedback and considering I'm going to use it as a second CX bike but its prime use will be a commuter for 4k miles a year so availability of parts is key!Trek Top Fuel 9.9 - Fuji CX 1.1 - Trek Boone 7 Disc - Room for 1 more0 -

I have no intention of finding out! (clearance between the 32mm tyre and front derailleur is minimal too)0
