I've had many nice bikes in the past but recently ive decided to get fit again and start cycling again, I have a budget from £400 to £500 or maybe more if it's worth it.

It may just sit in the shed but I hope to get my ass moving, so I'm in two mind to whether or not to spend much. Some may say 4/5 isn't much but that my budget.

I have looked around and found myself to liking the Wyhte frame as I like the longer frame, this bike is the budget one but should I spend more on the others and am I getting much more for the doe.

I was aiming to get a bike with front air shocks but seems out of my budget apart from the 13 incline which isn't a bad bike to apart from the brakes.

Also the new boardman bike will be released in a few weeks should I hold out.

Any help will be appricated cheers j

What sort of riding will you do?

The Whyte is outclassed by the others, the Marin is better but still not a match for the other three.

The others are much of a muchness, the Merida has an air fork which saves some weight and makes it more adjustable but the other two have better forks all round with better damping.

Of those I'd go with the Voodoo for the Shimano brakes.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
