North Lincolnshire/Scunthorpe

Having just moved to a village close to Scunthorpe I'm looking for a few local routes. I'm living in one of the villages on the other side of the Trent and looking for some fairly interesting routes that I can ride to rather than driving.

I'm not expecting anything major, just hoping for something to clock up some miles in the short amount of time I have available without having to resort to a road bike.

I'm aware of the usual places further away such as the peaks etc.

Hopefully there's someone local who can help.

You can head north from Scunthorpe through Ackies Warren towards Flixborough, stay on the flat past the industrial estate, the track takes you to Burton Stather where you can climb onto a tidy singletrack on the hillside overlooking the river. This leads to Alkborough, you can continue following the river or backtrack via some bridleways towards Scunny.
