Inner tubes and patches

I had two punctures recently and decided to stick some new tyres on but didn't replace the inner tubes. Combined there are about 7 patches on the tubes.

a) Is there any reason why the patched up inner tubes wouldn't be as sound as a new inner tube?

b) Does anyone have more patches on their inner tubes??

    a) patches are stronger than the original if done properly

    b) yes, but not at present. It's not sound logic that says each time a patch is added the tube is actually stronger than it was but as there are now 5 patches [insert your own limit here] it's time to bin the much stronger reinforced tube. I bin them if the valve breaks, or if a hole is too near the valve or would cause an overlap with an earlier repair.

    c) topic has been done to death tbh...

There should be no problems at all with 7 patches.

The most I have is about 5, so fair play.
