I had the 2010 model with the same frame. I put a 140mm Rockshox Pike (the old ones) on mine and it was great.
I wouldn't go to 150mm, at 140 I was starting to feel the effects of a high bottom bracket in corners.
A Pike, Lyrik (dropped to 140mm) or Revelation would be ideal.
You won't get a new style Pike to fit it which is a shame.
I would also upgrade to a bolt through axle, I remember that the X4 had a QR axle.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
thanks for the quick response if I only knew what high bottom bracket effect means .
yes it is QR and it is getting hard to find a nice fork I have to say.
the problem is my reba is 250 mm long and straight.
and if bolt through axle means a new hub for me if I get it correctly0 -

Recently bottom brackets have dropped about 1/2-1" to 'improve' the ride for just those reasons (compromise being increased pedal strikes of course).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
ok that's make sense now but I still don't know if this is a right thing to go for 140 let say forks0

I changed the forks on my old 2009 trance to a set of 140mm RS revs, great change, bike works well with them.0 -
Go for it!
Fitted a set float 140s to a friends a couple of years ago and it rides really well. You'll probably just need to remove the coned shaped spacer in order to keep your bars in a similar position to what they're in now.0
