NEED HELP with my new fork!

Hey all, recently I bought a new Rockshox tk30 Sliver brand new 100mm.

After installing the fork onto the bike, I realise that whenever I compress the fork, it gave me a whoosh/pfft sound. Is this normal or do I have to do something about it?

Also, comparing that fork to my Sr Suntour XCM, it is way stiffer and not as I have expected. Does anyone know how I can go around making the fork softer?

Thanks:) :D

Make it softer by reducing the preload, reducing the compression damping (if it's adjustable) or changing the spring.

As for the noise, hard to say from what you have given us.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

The rebound damper on the XC32 can be quite noisy. You should find that with the damper fully open (maximum hare) it should be a lot quieter than when fully closed (maximum tortoise).
You won't make it much softer with the preload knob, you might need a new spring. How heavy are you? Is it possible that your old fork was too soft? The XCM is very crap and unadjustable.
