Rear wheel,strange noise

Hi,when riding and pedalling all is good. However sometimes, not always, when I stop pedalling there is a strange chattering noise coming from the rear wheel. As little as half a pedal turn resolves this issue but it occurs several times each ride. Any help appreciated.

    A Mavic wheel would have the issue accompanied by the grating screech of imminent freehub death :)

    To me, it sounds like the freehub is either in need of some maintenance or on the way out. Both can be sorted with a freehub extractor, plenty of Youtube clips and guides about...
