Composite pedals

I've been looking at flats to go with my new bike and was shown a pair of nukeproof composite pedals.
Are they any good? To me they are just plastic what are they like strength wise.
Or should I just go for a pair of saints.

Many plastics are composite, in that they aren't one material, for example Nylon is almost always used with a glass filler.
Nothing wrong with composites, just as tough as aluminium alloy, have some properties that are a bit better, some a bit worse.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
I run a pair of DMR V6 at the moment and they are grippy as fook even with nylon pins - only problem i've had is that the bearings have gone to shit recently after only a month or so which is disappointing.Framebuilder

I've got V6's on the wife's bike, they're awful!
Nukeproofs plastic pedals are OK. You won't ever be able to change pins though, the threads get destroyed. Superstar Nano, Shimano Saints or DMR Vaults are about the best value / performance.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Specifics please?
Didn't get on well with standard Electrons, axle protrudes too much. Tried some Horizons recently; there's nothing intrinsically wrong with them, but for £40 I'd rather have new V12s/Saints.Current fleet

I tried them with my old 5.10 freeriders and my AM45's. The lack of grip compared to nanos and Saints was definitely noticeable.
I very rarely use flats now, just for the odd big jump session but when I do I use my old Saints.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
That's a shame; I'd earmarked them for a DJ/street/messing around build next year. Seems I'll have to reconsider.Current fleet

Love my Nukeproof Electrons. For £35 you can't go wrong! Uber grippy imo.Daddy, Husband, Designer, Biker, Gamer, Geek
