Correct Hybrid bike purchased?

Hi everyone.

Just after some advice and to make sure I have done the correct thing. :)

I've been looking for a bike for some general leisure cycling on a Sunday morning and perhaps the odd countryside cycle (no commuting to work) so nothing too strenuous, so after much research, it looked like a Hybrid bike (without suspension) was the best to go for.

So after spending some time looking at various bikes on Halfords and at Evans, it came down to the Carrera Subway 1 2015 at Halfords and the Pinnacle Lithium 2 2015 at Evans.
I tried both of them out at the shop and to be honest, the only difference I found was that the Cerrara was a bit slower and felt a bit heavier, compared to the Pinnacle one. I know that the Pinnacle comes with Hydraulic brakes.

So based on this (and that it seems Halfords build can be a bit hit and miss), I ordered the Pinnacle Lithium 2 2015 today from my local Evans store which should arrive at the store later this week (and they will build it).

Therefore, I thought I would just ask to ensure that I have made the correct decision as it's been quite a confusing time for me with lots of different views online. Should I have gone for something else?
Around £300 was my limit.

Thanks in advance.
