Hello:

I'm searching for bike's year of this Peugeot.
Actually the picture is not my bike, I found the picture in the net while trying to find the details of my bike. That's the only picture I could find were you could apreciatte details.
My bike is much damage and found it in the street, so, it wouldn't help to attach pictures...
Also I tried to check the serial number but I guess some of previous "owners" scratched that part because is without paint and totally rusty only on that part, I only couldn't see a "Y" and some number but nothing clear... The reason for knowing the year is to make a proper restoration, fine details to keep the originallity. Maybe at the time of removing the paint with the sandpaper would be easy to see the serial number... Anyway, before dismantling (probably more issues will appear), I'm guessing I'll spend around 80 pounds without counting my work-time...

Here you are some details if it helps:
Decals of Peugeot lion in the head tube and forks.
(this kind of lion: http://cyclespeugeot.com/images/head_badge_type_V.JPG)
Decals of Peugeot's name in the down tube and decals of "Course" in the top tube as seen in the picture.
Decals of "HLE" mangalloy and "CAD" in the frame as well.
Colors are the same as in the picture but more damaged and rusted.

Thanks in advance to all trying to help.

Cheers!

    Early 80s I reckon. I think it's. U.S. Model, model code UO10

This is th e1980 brochure, the bikeboompeugoet site has most of the catalogues on it white might help track down the specific decals, although I suspect the yellow paint on the picture in your post isn't original

Also check for a date stamped on the hubs, which was a common thing to do in that era, not fool proof as wheels can obviously be changed.

    Thank you for answering.

Before I've started the restoration I couldn't see the serial number due to rust. Now after stripping the bike and that I was sanding in that area I'm able to see the serial number which is Y210 34869.

I've found in a different forum (retrobike) that, apparently, Peugeot was using that serial number's during 80's being the year just the first number after the letter, and then the month.
    Year 1982, Month October. Y-2-10

I don't know if this is correct so it would be appreciate if somebody could confirm me that detail.

    Thank you in advance.

P.D. Even, if now is too late to keep the 100% originallity, I'll post some pics of final result after painting and assemble it :)
