This happened to my tyre yesterday:

Beyond sealant and inner tube, even if I'd had one. So, standing on the pedals and leaning as far forward as possible, I rode home on the flat; 35km and up to 45kph. The tyre stayed on the rim (RS61) and the wheel appears unscathed, although my arms ache.
I didn't notice riding over anything sharp but who knows what's hiding in the mud and puddles. The tyre, Fusion 3, has probably done over 4,000 km and the tread is paper thin, barely covering over the cords, although they weren't showing thru, and it wasn't particularly flatted. Seems I have to start making allowances for the illusion of thickness conveyed by the inner core of a tubeless tyre and re-think when they're worn out. I'll be checking my other high mileage tyres tonight.
