has anyone a 2012 cervelo S2 with this paint job?

What colour is the inside of the top tube (visible from where the rear brake cable exits the top tube?)
the reason i ask is I’ve just got a second hand 2012 S2 and when leading the brake i noticed the inside was red - i somehow expected it to be black carbon and the red paint only to be on the outside.
thanks

the bike looks pukka enough - both frame and forks have s/n under lacquer -

  • I'm not sure it would prove anything either way, that just looks like overspray from the cable exit point not being masked properly during painting. It could be a one off, but if everything else checks out then you're most likely fine.

If worried, contact Cervelo and get them to check the serial number on the frame, and there's probably one on the fork somewhere, probably on the steerer. You may have to drop the fork out to find it.

    thanks...
overspray is a good thought / reason & makes sense -
    - the s/n on the fork is in the right place (and is different to the frame) but that is Ok, as the forks have their own s/n which is independent of the frame no.
I’m happy enough with the provenance, but i was just surprised when i couldn’t see carbon through the hole.

    ta :)
