I just ordered Mavic Cosmic Carbon SLS wheelset for $700. My buddy has a 2015 Canyon Aeroad 7.0 with Mavic Comic Carbon SLE. What are the differences between the two wheels?

Thanks!

SLS has a conventional alloy braking surface; SLE braking track is exalith (special pads, better in wet than alloy).

Perhaps more importantly, SLS is a black wheel with silver brake track, and SLE is all black.

Did you mean that his wheels were 'Cosmic Carbone' and not Comic Carbon as you said

Not something I'd be paying a premium for.

Each to their own on that one.

Canyon Aeroad would look shyte with silver rims.
Completely black wheels look much better IMO. The rim tends to look deeper.

Black rims make silver tracked rims look old fashioned.
If you get better braking (I am not saying you do) then the two things would make the extra expense worth it to a lot of people.

Its not like the SLS's are cheap either.
    In for a penny ........

Exalith 2 braking is the best you can possibly get with rim brakes, so IMO it's worth it.
