Haha, ok was thinking of something like this:
http://flareclothingco.com/collections/men-s-clothing/products/mens-roost-short-sleeved-jersey?variant=701418919
Rather than a mainstream brand. Any ideas?0 -

If you like it, why are you seeking the approval of others
As it is I do like it, its both cheap and functional and not the most garish looking thing I have seen on the trail.
Go for it !0 -

FYI, I don't need the approval of others, but I do need a jersey that fits me, and that one is sold out in my size.
Isn't this a community site where people exchange ideas? I am interested in what people buy/wear on their trails that is a bit alternative and not the garish stuff you see all the time.0 -
Ignore brianbee, just imagine everything he says sounding Brummie like this.

Get it in XL and put it on a hot wash, it should be fine0 -
Seriously, does anyone have any recommendations? Please don't post if you haven't got anything constructive and on topic to add.0

What sort of thing you after?
Long sleeve? Short Sleeve? To match your bike?
Personally I like the stuff from One Industries, although I do like the one in your link.

I quite like Troy Lee kit but some of it looks terrible. Most of it's good though.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

It does seem quite hard to find anything 'cool'. There were some things that I might wear but you don't sound like you're overweight and 49.
You have to word your Google searches carefully too. I found lots of routes in both Jersey and New Jersey...Viscount Grand Touring - in bits
Trek ZX6500 - semi-retired
HP Velotechnik Spirit
Brompton M6
Specialized Camber Comp0 -
I use a motocross top and find it perfect, lots of choice out there!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks. Do you have any specific recommendations and do motocross jerseys that not have less ventilation than MTB jerseys?0 -

Thanks, I liked a few of those as well. Are there any sites that specialise just in MTB clothing or that have an even wider range?0 -

You can wear anything that fits the basic criteria of being strong enough to survive and roomy enough to allow ease of movement and a bit of breath-ability is nice. It only becomes a complicated process if you want others to think you look ''cool'' in it. As that requires mind reading skills. or at least you going round asking '' Would I look cool in this'' ?
Any sort of sports top, football, rugby MX will do the job just fine
NB as a general rule '' cool'' people can make nearly anything look '' cool'' Its more to do with attitude than the item in question0 -
Mine is actual motorcross, Thor brand, they do a massive selection.
After 4 years use it has one small hole in a sleeve, otherwise near enough as new.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Thanks, will take a look. How does the ventilation work out - doesn't it get pretty hot?0 -

Any online bike shop will have some sort of clothing, I find CRC usually have a wider more varied range.0 -
