Hi guys,
I am looking for a fun 29er hard tail, torn between a Cube LTD 2015 or Marin Nail Trail 9.6.
Marin had an excellent review here:
http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/hardtail/product/review-marin-nail-trail-9-6-15-49839/
The Cube LTD 2013 had a no so good review here:
http://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/hardtail/cube-ltd-pro-review-989
The bike I am after will be 2015 so I am not sure if the 2015 model has improved since the review... can anyone shed some light on this?
Cube LTD SL is currently selling for £919 which comes XT all around and a Fox fork which is a really good deal... just not sure about the frame due to the review above I am kind of leaning towards the lower speced Marin...
What are your thoughts? perhaps there are better bikes for under £1000 I may not be aware of?
Cheers!
Mark

The Marin for me of those two0 -
the marin is £500 if you need a 19" http://www.rutlandcycling.com/330408/products/2015-marin-nail-trail-9-6-hardtail-mountain-bike.aspx?origin=pla&kwd=¤cy=GBP&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-ZSzBRDp3ITHm5KO_JYBEiQA1JjHHMKROZTFI471IMdZ36Ja53EtTw-JHs-dfibrdRz9aa8aAnWY8P8HAQ
However, the fork is poo on the Marin.. as are the rest of the components.
My money would be on the Cube if I have the money.
Although, my money would actually go on the Boardman Pro, which is only £850 at the mo.

Thats a different spec than the one in the link he gave , Maybe why its 300 quid cheaper ?0 -
Yes I was looking at the 2016 nail trail 9.6 or 2015 9.7 both of decent spec. Can't post links as some one vandalised the virgin exchange cabinet and the Internet is down so I am using my phone. Both are between 700-800 quid which is within my budget. The 9.7 is 12 kg but 2x10 with a Reba fork, 9.6 is 1x10 13kg recon fork.
I already have a boardman team full Susser which is fun but I don't want another boardman.0 -

Ordered this in the end:
http://www.rutlandcycling.com/330409/products/2015-marin-nail-trail-9-7-hardtail-mountain-bike.aspx
Looks better than the cube and better spec for the money also, could find anything else with this spec in this price range.. not discounted anyways.
Just need to wait patiently for it to it to arrive...0 -
