I'm thinking of riding the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad Sportive at the end of February. Has anyone ridden it or any of the other classics sportives? Any advice appreciated.

I've done a few events in Belgium and the organization is always excellent, without much of the fuss they make here whenever they are "even capable" of slicing a Tesco cake at a feed stop.
Go for it, I'm sure it will be a corker. Otherwise consider the Gent-Wevelgem a few weeks later... it's a circular route from Kortrijk... 215 or 140 Km, depending on how strong you feelleft the forum March 20230 -
The continent is a lot better value for money and definitely a bit faster.0

Liege - Bastogne - Liege is pretty spectacular also - the Ardennes is a great place to ride.VO2 Max - 79 ml/kg/min
W/kg - 4.90 -
I regularly do LBL and the tour of flanders. both are great fun. the locals do differing versions of the same in better weather, I've been recommended Tillf Bastogne Tillf I think it is... similar to LBL and probably more scenic (as Liege is very industrialised).0

Try http://www.superklassieker.be - Koppenberg, Paterberg, Kluisberg, Carrefour de l'arbre, velodrome. Starts and ends in Oudenaarde and is on the 1st May every year. Well worth it: well organised and quieter than the Ronde.kop van de wedstrijd0
