Hi guys!

I am currently using a Giant Propel Advanced 1 and looking to change to carbon wheelsets and recently stumbled upon Metron 55. Not much reviews on it so am looking for advice/opinions/experiences about this wheelset.

Please do share to enlighten me. Thanks!

There's a lot of wheels at this price point and that gives you a lot of choice. 55mm is quite a deep wheel and the vision is not particularly light at 1714g

    Some others for comparison:
Reynold Assault is 41mm and weighs 1515g and the 62mm strike is 1615g, both also carbon clinchers.
DT Swiss RC55 are equal depth carbon clinchers and weigh 1630g

    Even alloy/carbon clinchers are lighter:
Fulcrum red wind XLR50 (or campag bullet which are the same wheels) are 1590g or Dura Ace C50's are 1672g
    FFWD F4R are 45mm and weigh 1635g

Or of course you can go somewhere like wheelsmith...
  • I have Vision Metron 40's. Very pleased with them.

Not as nice as the Enve 4.5 though.
  • Thanks for the responses!

Any thoughts on custom wheel builds (such as using white industry hubs) as oppose to ready made wheelsets?

I do know Metron has an odd number spoke count on the rear hub, making it almost impossible to change to a standard high end hubs in the future.
  • bump.

Need more input on Metron wheelsets. Are the hubs better than say White Industries T11?
