MTB Tyres

Hi,
I have an entry level MTB Specialized 'Rockhopper' 2012 26" The tyre treads are 'The CAPTAIN' and look wider and more 'nobbly' than some of my friends bikes. During triails I find I just can't keep up with my mates. I have concluded that I am as fit as them, but because of the design of my tyres I have to put more effort in, which makes it a less pleasurable experience.
should I change my wheels?
Thanks

Why change the wheels?
Could be all sorts of reasons why you're slower than your mates. Fitness (you say not), technique, bottle
Why not borrow (or swap) tyres from your mates and see what difference it makes?0 -
Captains aren't high resistance, slow rolling tyres, they're pretty average. I suspect your mates are fitter and / or better riders.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
