Question regarding first bike self-assembly

Afternoon all,

Just assembled my new bike but have what can only be described as a "hole" underneath near the BB area, assuming for cabling reasons.
From the part's that came with the bike the only thing that looks like it might cover it dosn't seem to fit.

I'm a complete novice and not at all mechanically minded so i'm probably missing something rather obvious!

Any pointers much appreciated!
Cheers.

I'm puzzled as to what the plastic bit with the 'hole' in it is, not just the 'hole' itself. If the hole wasn't just in the plastic bit, but in the actual carbon frame, I assume it would be a drain hole. The second photo seems to have a cover on the plastic bit, but still with a hole in it.

    Is it for a kickstand?

I think it is for covering the hole which is currently being used for the mechanical cable guide, if you wish to use electronic gearing.

Beneath the current cable guide (which carries your front and rear shift cables) you can probably get all sorts of things in - like a junction box, a battery etc. You don't want it falling out!
