Hi people.
Im a newbie here and want to pick the collective brain.
My sonn is a tall but skinny 11 year old who wants a new mtb for trails and road. It seems a key issue is weight here for mobility etc.- (and just keeping his enthusiasm up!) we have around £500?
Whats the advice , not just on weight issues but also any other good advice ?
Thanks in advance
Chris

It depends how tall, he is ? if he is tall enough for a 26''( 27.5) bike in a small size, then the advice is much the same as it would be for an adult, which is pop into Go outdoors/ decathlon and see whats the best offer at the moment. 500 quid well get you an very able and lightish bike from either

Otherwise or if lightness is the BIG issue, look at Frog and islabikes who turn out some very light weight (but non suspension) bikes for kids at about that money

If he can ride an adult bike, get to Decathlon as the Rockrider 500 series are lb/£ the lightest you'll find, excellent value as well.

    The 560 fits your budget

But the 540 has a bigger discount!
