Giant TCX2 2011 Bike advice

Hi there!
I'm new to CX bikes, after long time looking for a CX bike I've chosen the Giant TCX 2 (2011) (If I can find it).
The reason I want the 2011 version it's because the brakes.
I've seen all the recent year bikes have disc brakes and as far as I know it's worst to swap wheels between road and cx wheelsets.
I want the bike for commuting in the weekdays, long rides at the weekends and occasional light touring so I will be swapping wheels.
I spent long time reading forums and I checked loads of cx bikes and this one is the one I like most!
But after all the headache I was wondering if maybe I'm wasting my money getting and "old" bike.
What do you people think about this bike?
