Driving me nuts - fettling gears

Ok so have just replaced my drive train ready for winter but can I get the gears to run smoothly......
Have a new 105 rear derailleur and cassette
New sram chain
New cables - inner and outer
7800 lever
Chain ring new middle last winter.
I am a pretty reasonable mechanic and have built all my bikes but never had this sort of problem and it's driving me nuts.
Any tips to try? I wondered if the older dura ace lever is compatible with a newer rear mech as had a similar problem with a sram lever and a Shimano mech.
Help!

Have you got a spacer behind the cassette if required?0

Had a spacer but couldn't get the 12 so took it off and can now get all gears but if you get it running on the top three it then jumps or won't change on the smaller sprockets.0

If it's the newer 5800 (11speed) rear derailleur you're using, then it won't be compatible with the lever (7800). It has a different pull ratio. 5600 / 5700 rear derailleur would be fine.0

Put the old mech back on and perfect
