Wrist HRM and Garmin

Hi all. Does anyone know of a wrist based HRM (no chest strap) which will pair with the garmin edge 520? Or failing that a cost effective chest strap HRM transmitter which would pair with the garmin? Thanks

The new Garmin Vivosmart 2 will do just that. A lot dearer than a chest strap though if that's all you want it for

The Aldi near me has bluetooth HRM chest straps for £12.50 which look quite reasonable, depends if your local one has any stock left though.

Oh right. Yeah, I find the chest strap I have quite annoying. So the vivosmart will pair with an edge 520, so I can use the edge 520 functionality with strava? That's the ideal set up for me; wrist HRM, Garmin edge 520 and strava. Is there a link showing the vivosmart to edge compatibility? It doesn;t seem to show that here http://explore.garmin.com/en-US/vivo-fitness/

Use the Edge as normal with Strava and have your HR on the Edge display from the Vivosmart

I have a Vivosmart HR on order (btw cheapest price I found was £105 at decathlon).

If I've understood correctly it works in exactly the same way as the chest strap in terms of communicating with another Garmin device. I'll be syncing mine with a fenix 3. I think you have to put it into "broadcast mode" but hoping it's fairly intuitive once I get it.

Hoping it solves the issues I've been having with the chest strap. Don't mind it for cycling but for running I can never get it the right tightness - it either restricts my breathing or it falls down round my waist. So annoying.
